It was great to see an intimate show with the legendary singer Dionne Warwick.
Dionne came out and played most of her hits - accompanied by 3 of her musicians. Her piano player, bass guitarist & drummer.
She opened her set with “Walk On By” wearing an elegant colorful blouse and slacks on the first night. On night #2 she wore a light green pants outfit. Dionne played mostly her Scepter singles from the 1960's
The hits kept pouring out to a sold-out crowd both nights. The audience sang along to her tunes "I Say A Little Prayer”, "Do You Know The Way To San Jose?", "Message To Michael”, " Alfie", "I'll Never Fall In Love Again” and "This Guy’s In Love With You".
On night #2 Dionne introduced Roberta Flack & Bettye Lavette who were sitting in the audience . Both icons in their own right.
Dionne played for just one hour and the second to last song was "What The World Needs Now Is Love" as she said in these uncertain times we really need to embrace love.
And for that wonderful hour that is just what she did. Bringing her 1960's songs back with great memories of a more positive time in the world.
